Local Beer Works was created as a way to bring people, craft beer, and communities together. As craft beer lovers and homebrewers we wanted to create a platform to connect independent breweries and the communities they serve. There is a culture around craft beer and other small artisan style businesses that is unique, inviting and creative. Our online platform and future physical locations are a way to connect the value conscious consumer with these types of businesses.

After playing around with a few different names for the company we decided on Local Beer Works because it captures the mission of our company.

  • Local: characterized by or relating to position in space :  having a definite spatial form or location
  • Beer: an alcoholic beverage usually made from malted cereal grain (such as barley), flavored with hops, and brewed by slow fermentation
  • Works: sustained physical or mental effort to overcome obstacles and achieve an objective or result

Local is important to us because each geographical region has its own set of breweries and businesses that are unique to that area. They create jobs and are a part of the community.  We enjoy getting to know our local brewers and their staff and when traveling find it fun to visit local breweries to get a feel of what they offer. Each place has a unique character and that is something we feel should be celebrated.

Beer, of course, is our beverage of choice and the main focus of our business so having it in the name seemed necessary. We love drinking beer, making beer, sharing beer, learning about beer, traveling for beer, talking about beer, buying beer related products, creating our own beer themed designs, etc. (we think you get the point!)

Works came about as a way to express our love for the efforts and products put out by local businesses. These are small businesses that contribute to the local economy, provide jobs, and have products that are unique and showcase the talents of the region.

We are excited to bring you a platform that celebrates craft beer and the culture that surrounds it. Please join our social media pages and contact us through our contact form with any questions. Cheers!
